Hope your holidays were enjoyable!

I just wanted to update you on the two (so far) responses I received from the DNR about the resolution we sent on behalf of the PLMD.  The first one I received was from Terence Kafka who is the Agricultural Runoff Management Specialist for this project and someone I believe is the main contact for the DNR regarding this project.  The second letter I received was from Tom Lovejoy of the DNR who is the Environmental Analysis Supervisor.  He stated that they have made a tentative decision to issue the permit and will be preparing an Environmental Assessment.  They are taking all concerns and input from concerned members before the DNR decides whether they may make a subsequent decision to do a full Environmental Impact Study.

There is a public hearing regarding this issue on January 19th at 1:00 pm at the Community Center in Grand Marsh, WI - purpose to give everyone an opportunity to comment on the permit.  Also they are accepting any written comments, in lieu of attendance at the public hearing, to: Terence Kafka, DNR, 5301 Rib Mountain Dr., Wausau, WI 54401 or via phone: 715-355-1363 by January 26, 2011.
